About TMS Center of Madison
Set on University Ave in Madison, WI, TMS Center of Madison offers a new evidence-based alternative to treat adults with major depressive disorder. At their outpatient office, the procedure is performed under the supervision of a psychiatrist and lasts approximately 30 minutes. The treatment uses highly focused magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain that control mood. Patients report feeling a tapping sensation during treatment but are provided earplugs to alleviate the noise. Typically, treatment involves 5 treatments per week over a 4-6 week period with 26-36 treatments overall per client.
TMS Center of Madison was established in 2013 as a joint venture between Connections Counseling and Rosecrance and is set at the Connections counseling office. It is Madison’s only provider of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). The majority of local Madison-area insurance companies cover TMS sessions, and for other clients, coverage is based on a case-by-case analysis. Free consultations are also available for prospective clients.
