About Sequoia Teen Counseling Center
Founded in 2020 in response to the growing need for teen mental health services, Sequoia Teen Counseling Center supports preteens, teens, and young adults with anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, ADHD, neurodivergence, and other emotional challenges. The practice aims to reach communities traditionally underserved in mental health care, particularly neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ young people. Clients receive collaborative, identity-affirming care at the Eastlake office or through telehealth across Washington.
Creating Inclusive Care for Young People
Sequoia Teen Counseling Center brings together clinicians with different specialties and approaches, allowing care to reflect each client’s concerns, identity, experiences, and goals. Therapists specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and relational, somatic, and trauma-focused approaches. Sequoia Social connects neurodivergent teens with peers to share interests, practice coping skills, and build connections through authentic self-expression.
Extending Support to Caregivers
Caregiver coaching gives parents and caregivers practical strategies to strengthen relationships and support their young person while respecting privacy in therapy. Sequoia operates out of network with all insurers, including Medicaid and Apple Health, so clients pay the practice directly. The center provides monthly superbills for clients to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Sliding-scale rates and lower-cost sessions with intern therapists give families additional options for more affordable care.
