About San Francisco Marriage and Couples Center - Duboce Triangle
Founded in 2013, The San Francisco Marriage and Couples Center serves individuals, couples, families, and polycules in San Francisco, with online therapy available throughout California. The center’s Duboce Triangle location near the Market Street Railway Mural provides in-person care. Clients can access support for relationship conflict, communication difficulties, intimacy and sex concerns, infidelity, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, addiction, ADHD, eating disorders, and life transitions. Services include couples, individual, family, premarital, and co-parenting counseling.
Building a Path Forward
Therapists draw from emotionally focused therapy (EFT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic, attachment-based, Gestalt, somatic, and relational approaches. At the San Francisco Marriage and Couples Center, they also use the Gottman Method, accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy (AEDP), psychobiological approach to couples therapy (PACT), internal family systems (IFS), hypnotherapy, expressive arts, and mindfulness-based methods.
Honoring Every Relationship
The San Francisco Marriage and Couples Center works with LGBTQIA+ clients, consensually non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships, neurodivergent clients, immigrants, and people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Therapists explore relationship dynamics in real time, incorporate body awareness, and use communication exercises to help clients identify patterns and build new ways of relating. Additional services include perinatal mental health care, relationship coaching, and executive coaching for workplace partnerships.
