About Protea Wellness - Georgetown
Located next to the South Seattle College Georgetown Campus, Protea Wellness provides counseling for children, teens, young adults, and older adults, as well as couples and families. Clients can seek help for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, grief, relationship concerns, neurodivergence, developmental disabilities, and life transitions. The team also works with LGBTQIA+ clients and diverse family structures.
Support for Every Part of Life
The center uses an integrated approach that may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), exposure response prevention (ERP), family therapy, art and play therapy, and trauma-informed practices. Protea Wellness also provides individual, couples, and sex therapy, along with perinatal mental health support and groups focused on gender and LGBTQIA+ experiences.
Care That Meets You Where You Are
Protea Wellness offers in-person counseling, with distance therapy available through HIPAA-compliant video for some Washington clients. Therapists work from a social justice, anti-oppression, and inclusive feminist lens. Clients can also receive support around fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum concerns, sexual health, non-monogamous relationships, gender exploration, and experiences of systemic oppression.
