About Pathways Counseling Center
Established in 1985, Pathways Counseling Center works with children as young as 6, teens, adults, couples, and families. Their clinicians address anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), mood disorders, developmental concerns, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), sexual abuse, relationship difficulties, and LGBTQIA+ issues.
Stronger Connections, Healthier Relationships
Pathways Counseling Center provides individual, couples, family, and group therapy. Services include child and family therapy, parenting counseling, marriage therapy, sex therapy, and treatment for problematic sexual behavior and sex addiction. Clinicians also use eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), brainspotting, and mindfulness approaches. The team also supports spouses and partners affected by a loved one's compulsive sexual behavior.
Understanding Yourself, Embracing Change
Clients can seek help for sexual dysfunction, intimacy concerns, betrayal trauma, and sexually compulsive behaviors. The center also works with people navigating gender identity, transition-related concerns, and relationships involving different sexual orientations and relationship structures. The Milwaukee Transgender Program has served transgender and gender-questioning individuals since 1983 and follows WPATH standards. Pathways also provides a 24-hour emergency answering service for existing clients.
