About Ellie Mental Health - New Braunfels
Individual and family therapy form the core of treatment at Ellie Mental Health New Braunfels. The clinic works with anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief, and addiction. Family therapy addresses conflict, parenting, separation, blended-family dynamics, and communication, while individual therapy gives clients 1-on-1 time with a therapist. Clients can attend sessions in person or through telehealth.
Behavioral and Trauma-Focused Therapy
Therapists use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and trauma-focused CBT. Other approaches include mindfulness-based therapy, internal family systems, motivational interviewing, play therapy, and art therapy. The clinic also works with relationship concerns, self-harm, relapse prevention, neurodivergence, autism, eating disorder concerns, and major life changes.
Responsive Care Across Communities
The clinic provides gender-affirming and culturally responsive care and identifies LGBTQ+ and BIPOC competency among its areas of focus. Ellie also provides therapy for service members, veterans, military families, and first responders, addressing concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, relationships, and adjustment after military service. The clinic connects military-connected clients with clinicians who understand military culture and occupational trauma, and family members can receive therapy as well.
