About City Park Counseling Center
Serving teens, young adults, and adults in the Denver metro area, City Park Counseling Center supports clients through life transitions and emotional challenges. The center works with trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. It also supports parents, humanitarian workers, and therapists seeking EMDR consultation. Zuco, a bichon-poodle mix in training for animal-assisted therapy, is available as an optional presence during therapy.
Healing Mind, Body, and Self
Clients receive individual therapy tailored to their goals, needs, and preferences. Approaches include eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive-based therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, internal family systems (IFS), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and comprehensive resource model (CRM). Trauma therapy also addresses how traumatic experiences affect the nervous system.
A Place to Be Yourself
City Park Counseling Center provides a welcoming space for LGBTQI+ clients working through concerns related or unrelated to gender identity and sexuality. Teens can explore relationships, identity, independence, and school and family pressures, while young adults can address challenges involving work, housing, money, relationships, and independence. The center also offers extended EMDR sessions, including sessions outdoors.
