Relationship therapy sits at the center of Anchor Light Therapy’s work, with dedicated programs for couples, families, individuals, children, and teens. They provide couples and marriage counseling, premarital counseling, sex therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, parent coaching, and child and teen programs. They also treat anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, OCD, ADHD, grief, work stress, and chronic stress, with focused counseling for LGBTQIA+ clients, neurodivergent clients, veterans, and first responders through in-person sessions and virtual therapy across Washington.

Relationship and Individual Therapy Methods

Therapists select approaches based on the concerns of each client, couple, or family rather than relying on 1 method. Their core modalities include the Gottman Method, Relational Life Therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), emotionally focused therapy (EFT), narrative therapy, exposure therapy, and talk therapy. Younger clients may also use play and art therapy, while other services address sexual concerns, neurodiversity, trauma, and major life transitions.

Programs Move From Assessment Forward

Each program follows its own therapy process. Couples complete a 4-session assessment that includes joint and individual meetings plus an online assessment before the therapist presents a treatment plan. Family therapy typically meets weekly and may involve parents, siblings, or caregivers, while teen therapy also uses weekly sessions with clinician-directed parental involvement. When appropriate, therapists can coordinate individual, couples, child, and family sessions when concerns affect more than 1 member of the family system.
