Summit at Knoxville offers detox and residential treatment for addiction and mental health in a focused environment that fully immerses clients in therapeutic work, skill-building, and self-discovery. Their multidisciplinary team collaborates to develop highly individualized treatment plans that evolve with each patient’s progress and needs. This structured, yet flexible approach empowers clients to find stability, build resilience, and rediscover hope.

Follow an Intensive Schedule for Healing

Summit’s care team carefully selects and integrates various proven modalities to create a tailored treatment plan for each person. Clients participate in 6 hours of therapeutic groups daily and one individual therapy session per week, along with daily check-ins with clinical staff. This immersive approach allows for rapid skill acquisition and deep exploration of underlying thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that contribute to mental health conditions and addiction.

Find Refuge Near the Smoky Mountains

Summit’s 48-bed facility houses both their medical detoxification and residential services, ensuring a seamless transition between levels of care. Rooms are assigned by gender, age range, and level of care. The facility offers a distraction-minimized environment, with TVs only in common areas to encourage focus on recovery and peer connection. A talented on-site chef prepares three nutritious meals and snacks, and clients can participate in guided morning hikes every day.

Plan for Sustained Well-being

Summit at Knoxville equips clients with the tools, skills, and support network necessary to thrive in everyday life. As a client approaches discharge, the team works diligently with them to develop a comprehensive aftercare plan that may include:

  • Connecting with outpatient programs
  • Establishing ongoing psychiatric and medical care
  • Identifying local support groups or community mental health resources
  • Developing strategies for managing stress and maintaining healthy routines.

Break Down Stigma & Financial Barriers to Healing
Summit at Knoxville understands the urgent need for accessible addiction and mental health services in East Tennessee, where stigma, privacy concerns, and beliefs in self-sufficiency often prevent treatment. Deeply committed to breaking down these barriers, they make high-quality care accessible to the community by accepting a wide range of insurance plans and offering flexible self-pay options.
Navigate Withdrawal Comfortably & Safely
Navigate Withdrawal Comfortably & Safely
Summit’s medically supervised detox program ensures continuous monitoring, symptom management, and immediate intervention for any complications, providing the safest and most comfortable pathway to stabilization. Nurses and nurse practitioners provide continuous oversight and use carefully selected, non-addictive medications to relieve withdrawal symptoms, reduce discomfort, and stabilize vital signs.
Involve Family in Weekly Sessions Online
Involve Family in Weekly Sessions Online
To maintain each client’s focus, in-person family visits pause during treatment—but connection remains essential. Weekly Zoom sessions allow families to become an integral part of the recovery process. These calls educate families about their loved one’s disorder, improve communication, teach relapse-prevention strategies, and facilitate healing within the family unit.
Integrate Psychiatry & Medication Management
Integrate Psychiatry & Medication Management
Under the guidance of a psychiatrist, clients receive a thorough psychiatric assessment to establish an accurate diagnosis and prescribe the most appropriate medication at the lowest effective dose, prioritizing non-addictive options when appropriate. Summit empowers clients with knowledge about their medications, including their purpose, how to take them, potential side effects, and the importance of adherence.
