About Step2
STEP2 offers a comprehensive recovery program for women overcoming addiction, trauma, and
domestic violence. Through evidence-based treatments like individual and group therapy, combined with practical life skills training, education, and employment support, STEP2 not only addresses addiction but empowers participants to rebuild their lives and achieve self-sufficiency.
Focusing on adult women, with priority given to those who are pregnant or have children, STEP2 provides specialized treatment for substance abuse and often co-occurring domestic violence issues. Although clients may be referred by various agencies, each participant must initiate contact herself.
The core residential program, held at the Redfield Residential Facility, spans approximately 10-12 weeks. Clients reside in dormitory-style housing and engage in over 30 hours of therapy per week, covering topics like addiction education, relapse prevention, trauma, and parenting. They also participate in practical activities such as nutrition classes, community service, and employment readiness training, with additional support for health and legal needs.
For pregnant clients, STEP2 offers dedicated maternity support, including prenatal and infant care, transportation, and access to essential supplies. After completing the residential program, clients can transition to the Lighthouse Campus—a supportive housing community with fully furnished cottages. Here, residents may live with their children, initially pay a reduced rent, and continue to develop life skills through activities like gardening, community service, and participation in a resident-led Community Council. This transitional phase aims to facilitate a smooth journey toward independent living, enhanced by job readiness support and positive rental history for future housing stability.
