About Serenity for Life
Nestled in the Rocky Mountains, Serenity for Life offers a serene landscape for women seeking healing from substance use, mental health, and trauma. Women typically stay in their residential program 30-90 days, where they will participate in evidence-based therapies, trauma intensives, integrative wellness, dietary and nutritional education, nursing groups, family and recovery coaching adventure therapy, equine EMDR and more in a 1-on-1 and group settings.
Transform Through Whole-Person Care
At Serenity for Life, every element of care is connected and evolving. Five core pillars work together from day one to help residents develop the skills, awareness, and confidence needed to move forward. These five pillars aren't separate programs; they're woven into every day of a resident's time here. The five pillars are:
Pillar 1: Medical & Physical Healing
Trauma manifests in the body, showing up as disrupted sleep, chronic tension, dysregulated stress responses, and sometimes over-dependence on substances for coping. Serenity for Life stabilizes the physical foundation first, and when beneficial, integrates medication management to help regulate symptoms so everything else can take hold.
Pillar 2: Clinical Therapy
Deep, individualized work with experienced therapists helps residents process traumatic events, build coping skills, and create meaningful insight at their own pace, not a program's. For many women, this is the first time the root of their trauma has been treated at all.
Pillar 3: Somatic & Body-Based Healing
Trauma is stored where talk therapy can't always reach. Movement, breathwork, and body-awareness practices help residents recognize how past experiences still show up in the present. A team of practitioners helps residents develop the ability to manage emotions, anger, and overwhelm from the inside out.
Pillar 4: Spiritual & Emotional Restoration
Not tied to any religion or belief system, this pillar helps residents reconnect with their own feelings, sense of purpose, and inner peace. Trauma has a way of severing that connection, and Serenity for Life helps each resident find what can guide and motivate them toward a healthy path forward.
Pillar 5: Experiential & Relational Healing
Trauma reshapes how people relate to peers, family members, and loved ones. Through experiential work and carefully guided connection, residents build confidence in how they relate to the people who matter most. This part of the program continues after residents leave the center through ongoing peer support groups and counseling.
Restore Well-Being in a Lakeside Sanctuary
Women can recharge between sessions with amenities including a hot tub, infrared sauna, massage chairs, a meditation space, and cozy fire pit. The residential facility is surrounded by mountains and rests on the edge of a crystal-clear lake, offering a serene backdrop for healing. Individuals can relax and connect with others in their cozy common area and enjoy chef-prepared meals that support overall wellness.
