About Oxbow Academy
Oxbow Academy is a specialized treatment center in Utah for boys ages 10-17 struggling with problematic sexual behaviors. The center offers comprehensive care, including evaluation, individualized treatment plans, and sex-specific therapy. What sets Oxbow apart is its focus on addressing compulsive sexual behavior, sexual abuse, pornography abuse, and sexual reactivity issues in teens. Their therapists are either certified sex addiction therapists (CSAT) or in the process of certification, ensuring specialized expertise in dealing with sensitive sexual issues.
The center employs a unique approach to treatment, combining traditional therapy with experiential methods such as equine therapy, expressive arts, EMDR, and high adventure. This multi-faceted approach allows for deeper, longer-lasting impact compared to traditional talk therapy alone. Oxbow Academy also emphasizes family involvement, focusing on rebuilding trust and healing family relationships. The program is accredited and bases its practices on ongoing research, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care. Additionally, they offer specialized treatment options, including a Neurotypical House for students who better understand social interactions.
