The Joint Commission accreditation is a voluntary, objective process that evaluates and accredits healthcare organizations (like treatment centers) based on performance standards designed to improve quality and safety for patients. To be accredited means the treatment center has been found to meet the Commission's standards for quality and safety in patient care.

About Saint Simons By-The-Sea Behavioral Health
Saint Simons offers a place of safety, stabilization and effective treatment for anyone ages 12+ with mental health or substance use disorders in crisis. Their programs include medical detox, acute stabilization through intensive inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP). Their team of addiction specialists are trained to address dual diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, psychosis and other psychiatric disorders.
Saint Simons aims to provide personalized treatment for all patients by offering specialized programs for adolescents, women, military members, and older adults. The geriatric program includes additional consideration for memory challenges and physical health issues. The program for military members and veterans includes specific treatment that targets the stressful experiences that may result from deployment or reintegration. Adolescents, ages 12–18, receive 24/7 care with treatment that addresses risky behaviors and substance use disorders. All patients are treated using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, group therapy and family therapy. Following treatment, Saint Simons works with all patients to set up outpatient care, like private therapy and 12-Step meetings to provide full recovery.
