About River Oaks Hospital Louisiana
Situated on a 14-acre campus near the Elmwood Shopping Center, River Oaks Hospital offers a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient programs to address various psychiatric and substance use concerns. Accredited by the Joint Commission, River Oaks accepts most major private insurance, as well as Tricare, V.A. Benefits, Medicare, and Medicaid.
The Adolescent Psychiatric Program provides inpatient mental health services for individuals aged 12–17, focusing on crisis stabilization and personal development. Treatment includes individual, group, and family therapy, medication management, and discharge planning. Art, music, and play therapies complement educational modules on social skills, problem-solving, and anger management. Adolescents can continue their education while in treatment.
As a Patriot Support Program, River Oaks offers tailored care for active-duty military personnel, addressing combat trauma, stress, grief, and reintegration challenges. Therapies include dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational enhancement therapy (MET), trauma education, and 12-Step meetings for substance use.
Adult inpatient and outpatient programs integrate medication management, individual, group, and family therapy, along with educational modules, art, and music therapy. For substance use, clients participate in 12-Step groups, addiction education, and relapse prevention strategies. Referring providers receive updates, and discharge planning helps ensure continued care.
