Contributing to Recovery.com’s Contributor Network offers several meaningful benefits:
Application Process: Start by applying to become a contributing writer. During this process, we’ll gather some information about you to craft your bio.
Contract: Our contract is simple but requires that articles are exclusively published on our platform, aligning with web publishing standards. This agreement grants Recovery.com the copyright to submitted articles, confirming that all content submitted is original, has not been previously published elsewhere, and is created without the use of AI, guaranteeing authenticity and uniqueness in your contributions.
Selecting Your Article Topic: We provide a list of topics to ensure a diverse range of content and prevent overlap among contributors. If your desired topic isn’t listed, feel free to suggest it via email or in your submission form.
Writing and Submitting Your Article: Once you’ve selected a topic, you will typically have between one to four weeks to write and submit your article. All submissions must include APA-formatted citations and references (if applicable) to support your content.
Editing and Clinical Review: After submission, your article will undergo a thorough review process. An editor will ensure the article is well-structured and covers all relevant points, while a clinical reviewer will verify the accuracy of any clinically-based information. If the article isn’t suitable for publication, we will return it to you with the freedom to publish it elsewhere.
Publication and Promotion: Once accepted, Recovery.com will publish and actively promote your article, using digital marketing strategies to maximize its reach and impact.
Recovery.com does not require any fees for publishing articles. Submissions are evaluated purely on their adherence to our editorial standards, and articles will be accepted or rejected based on these criteria.
Eligibility: To become a professional contributor at Recovery.com, you must be a licensed professional (or the equivalent), such as an LP, LCSW, LPC, LMHC, MD, DO, psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse practitioner, OT, PT, or pharmacist. In addition to these credentials, we consider other professionals with relevant experience in the field, such as yoga instructors, adventure therapists, and holistic practitioners. These roles contribute valuable perspectives and methodologies that enhance our understanding of comprehensive recovery practices. Being a published author is not a requirement for contributing.
Eligibility: To become a non-clinical contributor at Recovery.com, you do not need a professional license. We welcome individuals with personal, lived experiences related to recovery. While professional credentials are not required, your firsthand insights and stories are invaluable. Being a published author is also not a requirement.
