About TLC Child & Family Services - Main Campus
Teens who experience depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, or emotional overwhelm attend this residential and day treatment program (PHP) in Sebastopol, California. Some have a history of neglect, grief, or abuse, while others struggle with learning differences, emotional regulation, or family conflict. All students have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and receive integrated academic and therapeutic support tailored to their specific needs.
Therapies and Daily Structure
Set on five green acres near the Russian River and coastal parks, the campus offers a calm and natural setting where teens can regroup and recover. The program offers individual, group, and family therapy using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) , somatic therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, and other evidence-based approaches. Teens follow a consistent routine that includes school, therapy, chores, and shared responsibilities like preparing meals and keeping their space clean.
Supportive Environment and LGBTQ Inclusion
Staff maintain close communication with families and work as a team to track progress, adjust support, and guide emotional growth. As teens gain stability, they may earn phone privileges or join supervised outings to places like the beach or local community events. The program creates a safe, affirming space for LGBTQ youth and provides gender-sensitive care throughout all areas of treatment, schooling, and daily life.
