Salus
About Salus
Combining a garden setting with a 90-day recovery programme, Salus is a residential wellness recovery retreat inside Dash Box Hotel in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. They serve adults aged 18 and over who voluntarily enter treatment for substance dependence, compulsive behaviours and accompanying depression, anxiety, burnout, trauma or sleep difficulties. They also provide residential OCD treatment. As part of Solace Wellbeing Group, they share Solace Asia’s clinical leadership, methods and advisory board through a programme designed to cost less.
From Assessment to Daily Therapy
At Salus, medical, psychiatric and psychological assessments guide each guest’s plan, which clinicians review weekly. Guests attend weekly 1-on-1 therapy and daily small groups, while family sessions address life at home. Therapists draw on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), motivational interviewing and trauma-focused work according to diagnosis. They use the Matrix Model for methamphetamine dependence, combining therapy, family education and relapse prevention. For OCD, therapists guide exposure and response prevention.
A Living Prescription for Home
Through the Social Prescription Model, guests and their Salus Clinician co-write a living prescription connecting activity, relationships and routine across 6 dimensions of life. Guests progress through Restore, Connect, Participate and Integrate according to readiness rather than the calendar. Clinicians begin planning for discharge in the 1st week, and guests leave with written aftercare plans, continued counselling and support groups. The all-inclusive RM7,000 monthly fee covers the programme, private accommodation, meals, 24-hour care, medical oversight and aftercare.
