Red Road North
About Red Road North
Operating in partnership with the Northern First Nations Alliance (NFNA), Red Road North provides a 90-day residential addiction treatment program in Terrace, British Columbia. The program combines trauma-informed care, evidence-based counselling, an introduction to the 12 Steps, and Indigenous healing practices. Ministry of Health-funded beds are available for eligible BC residents, alongside private-pay options. A person-centred approach guides treatment, with individualized care, 24/7 support, and programming that reflects each resident’s experiences and recovery goals.
Support for Every Journey
The co-ed program serves adults 19 and older, including Indigenous people, men, women, and LGBTQ+ individuals. Residents take part in group and one-on-one counselling using approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing. A weekly schedule also includes healthy meals prepared by in-house chefs and activities that support physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Healing Through Culture
Residents can learn from local First Nations and Elders through land-based healing and traditional practices, including sweat lodges, medicine wheel teachings, drumming, water rituals, and arts and crafts. Eligible BC residents over 19 can access publicly funded beds at no cost, while private-pay options are available to people worldwide. FNHA subsidies, contracted beds for First Nations Bands, and financing plans may also be available.
