About Mission Prep Teen Treatment
Mission Prep provides structure, treatment, and hope for adolescents ages 12 to 17, supporting sustainable change and giving families the fresh start they need. Mission Prep's Minnetonka, Minnesota home offers care for female and female-identifying teens struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma. Built around individual therapy, family involvement, and experiential care, the 6-bed residence keeps groups intimate while creating a genuine sense of community.
Build Skills through Weekly Therapy
Each week brings two individual therapy sessions, one family session, and two clinical mentoring sessions. Therapists use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) to help teens build coping skills that last. Equine, music, and art therapy, along with yoga and gardening groups, round out clinical care. An on-site doctor and psychiatrist, 24-hour nursing, and a 3:1 staff-to-client ratio mean teens always have support close by.
Settle into Active Daily Life
The 6-bed home has double-occupancy bedrooms, a living room with a fireplace, a backyard, and an in-home gym. Chefs serve plated meals that work around dietary needs, and on Saturday nights teens pick a restaurant for a special dinner. A master's-level educator teaches class every weekday so teens don't fall behind in school. Phone use is supervised, with short tech time groups twice a week, and outings explore parks and other spots around Minnetonka.
Prepare for Life after Treatment
A biweekly family program, a Wednesday family support group, and weekly family therapy keep parents and guardians involved the whole way through, so they're ready to support their teen once they're home. Before discharge, clinicians build an aftercare plan around each teen's needs and home life, which often includes stepping down to an intensive outpatient program (IOP). That way teens head back into daily life with care already lined up.
