Marsh Foundation

For more than a century, this nonprofit and CARF-accredited program provides residential treatment, foster care, and education for boys ages 7 to 17. Guided by a mission to inspire hope and nurture growth, the program offers safe, structured group homes within a trauma-informed therapeutic community. Licensed clinicians treat behavioral challenges, trauma, attachment issues, and complex emotional needs, helping youth build resilience and life skills. Children also benefit from foster and adoption services, as well as an on-campus school.

Foster Recovery Through Hope

Treatment begins with a thorough clinical assessment and the development of an Individual Service Plan (ISP) tailored to each child’s strengths and goals. Care is grounded in the Teaching-Family Model, an evidence-based approach that fosters structure, healthy behaviors, and emotional regulation. Services include individual, family, and group therapy, with specialized programs for high-risk behaviors. Holistic supports such as equine-assisted psychotherapy, expressive arts, and wellness activities further guide children toward healing and long-term success.

Each boy resides in a private bedroom within one of three secure, home-like residences. The 2,897-acre campus includes shared living areas, a gym, an equine center, and a scenic pond for swimming, canoeing, and fishing. Daily life extends into team-building, athletics, nature study, and independent living programs that teach cooking, budgeting, and job readiness. This combination of structure, comfort, and experiential opportunities creates an environment where every child can heal, learn, and thrive.
