Andrew Residence
About Andrew Residence
Founded in 1973, Andrew Residence is a long-term residential mental health and nursing facility in Minneapolis treating adults 21+ with severe, persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders through psychiatric rehabilitation and 24-hour nursing care. At its core, their program includes Illness Management and Recovery, dual diagnosis groups, crisis services, vocational training, and independent living skills. In addition, they offer licensed residential treatment for those who do not require hospitalization but need structured support.
Engage Recovery With Purpose
Through an evidence-based approach, Andrew Residence uses trauma-informed care guided by Illness Management and Recovery. Residents engage in individual sessions, group therapy, psychoeducation, music therapy, therapeutic recreation, fitness training, and nutrition services. At the same time, staff work collaboratively with each resident to build coping skills, manage symptoms, and strengthen independence. For ongoing support, dedicated program managers help align treatment with personal goals and steady progress toward recovery.
Connect Through Community Living
Residents live in a licensed 212-bed nursing facility that provides cafeteria-style meals, ongoing nutritional assessments, and special diets as needed. Beyond clinical care, a fitness center with resistance equipment supports physical health. For connection and engagement, therapeutic recreation includes camping and community outings. To encourage growth, onsite vocational roles and life skills training help residents build confidence while preparing for greater independence.
