About Utah Navajo Health System Montezuma Creek Community Health
A nonprofit community health center, offering outpatient and virtual behavioral health services, Montezuma Creek Community Health serves rural southeastern Utah and the northern Navajo areas around Montezuma Creek. The center’s services focus on improving quality of life by combining traditional methods, comprehensive assessments and evaluations, and a culturally sensitive environment that empowers individuals and families with the help of friendly, supportive staff.
Mental Health Care With Traditional Healing
This center provides a broad range of mental health support for individuals, groups, and families through therapy, substance use counseling, and Navajo traditional healing methods. Individuals with eating disorders receive support through a structured dietary and nutrition program that offers nutritional therapy, weight management, and education services to help meet nutritional needs and resolve eating-related issues.
Culturally Rooted Pathways to Recovery
Specialized youth services such as the Iina Bihoo'aah Program are designed for teens and young adults ages 16-24, helping them cope with and manage mental health challenges as they transition to adulthood. These services include traditional Navajo healing practices, individual and group counseling, and family therapy. The center also offers mental health support to veterans, women, and their children, helping them process stress and address anxiety and traumatic experiences. All programs are designed to honor the Navajo people, their culture, and the healing practices that help restore strength, safety, and mental well-being.
