Turning Point Australia Church Street

Located near Melbourne in Richmond, Turning Point Church Street offers outpatient and online treatment for substance use, process addictions, and co-occurring mental health concerns. The Church Street Facility is easily accessible via the 78 East Richmond tram line stop 63 and is a short walk from the East Richmond train station. Free parking in the area is time limited, but paid parking is available at the 65 Church Street Garage, about a block away. The facility is fully wheelchair accessible. Turning Point Australia is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and provides free care for Australian residents.

Treatment Services

Turning Point offers specialist pharmacotherapy treatment for individuals with opioid use concerns and other mental health concerns seeking medication-assisted treatment (MAT) like methadone or buprenorphine. Clients are stabilized with MAT and referred back to primary care after achieving remission from opioid use.

Turning Point’s Church Street specialist addiction clinic offers assessments for substance use and behavior addictions such as gambling. Assessment is available in person or online for those living in rural or more distant areas and typically lasts 1 hour. Addiction medicine specialists help diagnose individuals and refer them to appropriate care, at times engaging in short-term follow up treatment.

Neuropsychology service involves collaborating with a referring provider to help determine how traumatic brain injury, psychosocial, substance, and other factors may be affecting their client’s cognition. Turning Point works with the referring provider to inform intervention with the client's goals, interests and strengths. Turning Point may see the client in person or virtually to get more information for a neuropsychological assessment.
