About The Waverly Group
Bringing child therapy and developmental testing into one Old Greenwich practice, The Waverly Group provides outpatient care for children and teens with autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, and learning needs. Founded by a psychologist, behavior analyst, and occupational therapist, the center works with families and schools to help children use what they learn in therapy at home and in the classroom. Their ARC Health partnership provides operational support while the local team directs care.
Build Skills at Home and School
Clinicians usually see children weekly for psychotherapy, using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and play therapy to teach coping skills. They meet regularly with parents to review progress, and share strategies for home. Speech, occupational, and physical therapists address communication, daily living, and movement skills. Early intensive applied behavior analysis (ABA) serves children under five, with director supervision and therapist support at community preschools. School consultations and executive function coaching support behavior, organization, and homework. One-hour lunch and snack groups help children offer social and mealtime practice, with monthly enrollment. Group entry requires a paid clinical intake, which does not guarantee placement.
Clarify Learning and Developmental Needs
Learning evaluations typically involve 10 to 20 hours of testing and can identify learning disabilities, ADHD, or anxiety. While developmental evaluations assess for autism. Families review results with the team and receive recommendations for home and school. The center also completes independent educational evaluations for Connecticut and New York school districts.
