About SOAR (Supporting Opportunities for Advocacy & Resilience)
SOAR is a grassroots, peer-centered nonprofit that supports people in Dane County who are navigating mental health and substance use concerns. Through community-based services, SOAR helps people build life skills, strengthen support networks, and navigate complex systems. Services include resource navigation, collaborative psychiatry, and Solstice House Peer Respite, with an emphasis on lived experience and whole-person wellness.
Receive Client-Centered Support
SOAR provides case management and Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) in Dane County, offering person-first, trauma-informed support for mental health and/or substance use challenges. Available services may include medication management, skill development, counseling, and peer support from Certified Peer Specialists, as well as outpatient psychiatric evaluations and other clinical support.
SOAR accepts Medicaid for all community-based services. New patients need a referral through Dane County CCS or the Behavioral Health Resource Center (BHRC). The peer respite program is voluntary and free for all guests.
