Located along Stephenson Highway, north of Madison Heights, River’s Bend treats children, teens, and adults with mental health conditions, substance use disorder (SUD), or both. The center offers individual, family, and group therapy, mental health and addiction intensive outpatient (IOP), mental health day treatment (PHP), psychiatric evaluation, medication management, ambulatory detoxification, ADHD assessments, SUD evaluations, driver’s evaluations, SAP-DOT evaluations, and early recovery groups. Clients can attend in person or use telehealth when available.

What Treatment Looks Like

Mental health and addiction IOP usually meet three days a week for three hours over six to eight weeks. Sessions include education, clinician-led group discussion, coping skills, emotional regulation, communication work, relapse prevention, and recovery planning. Day treatment runs on weekdays and gives clients more structure without requiring an overnight stay. Psychiatric services can include diagnostic evaluation and medication management. Clients return home after each visit and may continue working, attending school, or caring for family.

Access, Populations, and Payment

River’s Bend also runs a dual-diagnosis adolescent IOP and serves healthcare professionals, legal professionals, and safety-sensitive workers through HPRP, LJAP, and SAP-DOT services. Daytime, afternoon, and evening schedules vary by program. The center accepts a range of commercial insurance plans and checks benefits, copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and authorization requirements before treatment. Adult ADHD testing is private pay, with listed prices of $650 for an ADHD assessment and $1,120 for a comprehensive psychological assessment.
