Located along Maple Avenue, Potomac Highlands Guild serves children, youth, and adults through outpatient psychiatric care, psychological testing, individual, group, and family therapy, DUI assessment and counseling, case management, and 24/7 crisis intervention. Psychiatrists complete evaluations, prescribe and monitor medication, and coordinate with physicians and other providers. Day Treatment and Developmental Services
The Guild runs 4-day treatment sites 5 days a week for adults with developmental disabilities or long-term mental illness. Staff create individual treatment and curriculum plans that may include basic education, daily living skills, personal care, socialization, recreation, community outings, and pre-vocational training. Behavioral specialists, nurses, and program planners also work with children, youth, and adults in schools, day programs (PHP), residential settings, and other community activities.
Residential Care and Team Planning
The Guild owns 2 apartment facilities for adults with long-term mental illness and 1 home for 2 to 3 adults with developmental disabilities. Staff also supervise people who rent their own homes or apartments and serve as the Medicaid Provider of Record for three regional ICF/MR group homes. Psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, social workers, and case managers work together to build and carry out treatment plans based on each person’s needs.
