Merakey Norwegian Plaza

Advancing recovery and greater independence, Merakey Norwegian Plaza is a behavioral health and developmental services center for adults with mental health conditions and people with intellectual or developmental disabilities. They address psychiatric symptoms, emotional distress, behavioral challenges, communication needs, and barriers affecting work, self-care, relationships, and community life through coordinated clinical and developmental care.

Connect Recovery with Ability

They provide therapy, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, case coordination, behavior planning, employment support, and daily-living skill development. For adults with dual diagnoses, they also coordinate physical healthcare, housing support, crisis assistance, personal safety, and community participation. Their integrated approach helps people strengthen routines, build confidence, and move toward greater independence.

Located along Norwegian Plaza, this center is part of Merakey, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people, families, and communities. Merakey began in Philadelphia in 1969 as The Northwest Center, later became NHS Human Services, and has grown into a multi-state provider serving 12 states across behavioral health, autism, addiction recovery, intellectual and developmental disability, education, foster care, aging, and veteran services. At this location, they carry that mission forward through recovery-focused care, skill building, and meaningful participation in everyday life.
