About Merakey Hickory Street
Creating a clearer path toward emotional stability and independence, Merakey Hickory Street is an outpatient behavioral health center for adults with depression, anxiety, trauma-related concerns, addiction, serious mental illness, and co-occurring healthcare needs. They address challenges affecting relationships, employment, housing, and daily routines through individualized treatment that connects clinical care with practical recovery goals.
Care with Daily Life
They combine counseling, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, case coordination, peer support, life-skills development, and recovery planning. Their CARF-accredited Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team provides coordinated support for adults with serious mental illness. They also connect clients with physical healthcare, transportation, benefits, employment, and housing resources, helping them strengthen coping skills, stabilize daily routines, and participate more confidently in family and community life.
Bring Recovery to the Community
Located along Hickory Street, this center is part of Merakey, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people, families, and communities. Merakey began in Philadelphia in 1969 as The Northwest Center, later became NHS Human Services, and has grown into a multi-state provider serving 12 states across behavioral health, autism, addiction recovery, intellectual and developmental disability, education, foster care, aging, and veteran services. At this location, they carry that mission forward by helping adults build greater stability, independence, and confidence in everyday life.
