Merakey Center Drive

Supporting adults with serious mental illness in building stability and staying connected to community life, Merakey Center Drive is an intensive community-based Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) center. They serve adults whose psychiatric symptoms, medication needs, repeated crises, or difficulty maintaining safe and stable housing require coordinated care beyond standard clinic visits through a multidisciplinary team that addresses both mental health and everyday needs.

Their ACT team provides therapy, medication assistance, case management, crisis planning, rehabilitation, and connections to housing, benefits, physical healthcare, and community resources. By addressing clinical and practical barriers together, they help adults strengthen treatment engagement, improve symptom stability, manage daily responsibilities, and remain safely connected to community life.

Located along Center Drive, this center is part of Merakey, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people, families, and communities. Merakey began in Philadelphia in 1969 as The Northwest Center, later became NHS Human Services, and has grown into a multi-state provider serving 12 states across behavioral health, autism, addiction recovery, intellectual and developmental disability, education, foster care, aging, and veteran services. At this Norfolk location, they reduce treatment barriers and support a steadier path toward recovery, independence, and community connection.
