Karen Horney Clinic
About Karen Horney Clinic
Along East 62nd Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, near Central Park, this outpatient clinic provides long-term psychoanalytic and psychodynamic psychotherapy for adults, children, and adolescents. Services address depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, personality problems, and life-stage concerns. Care occurs one to three times weekly, with appointments available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Depth-Oriented Therapy for Growth
Treatment centers on individual psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, supported by counseling, supportive therapy, and psychiatric medication management when needed. Clinicians explore emotional patterns, early relationships, and interpersonal experiences that shape distress. Therapy focuses on helping patients understand underlying psychological processes, reduce symptoms, and develop greater emotional freedom through consistent, collaborative outpatient care.
Specialized Programs Across Life Stages
Dedicated services support trauma survivors, college students, and children and adolescents with their caregivers. Trauma counseling addresses experiences such as abuse, violence, and loss. Child and adolescent services use individual and family therapy to strengthen emotional security and development. College-focused care helps students manage academic pressure, relationships, and mental health challenges within the pace of New York City life.
