With the mission to nurture development, foster resilience, and cultivate well-being, The Guidance Center provides adult behavioral health services for those with severe mental illness, substance use disorders (SUD), or co-occurring conditions. The team serves people with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI), while also supporting veterans, military families, and members of the LGBTQ community. Clients include adults with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, and ADHD.

Practical Care for Lasting Progress

The center delivers individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatric services, medication management, nursing care, case management, and crisis intervention. The team provides psychoeducation, peer support services, recovery groups, and structured skill-building programs. Evidence-based treatment includes assertive community treatment (ACT), which provides intensive home- and community-based care with regular contact and 24-hour crisis phone support, and supported employment, which supports vocational assessment, job search assistance, application help, and ongoing employment support.

Support Beyond the Therapy Room

The center offers bilingual staff and free translation services in all languages, including American Sign Language, and maintains an inclusive, fully accessible environment. The center integrates behavioral, physical, and social care through its behavioral health home and case management programs. The team coordinates support for housing, transportation, food, clothing, insurance, prescriptions, and other community resources. Psychiatric services include medication management, injections, nursing assessments, and education for chronic conditions.
