About Growth Works - Romulus
Located on Wayne Road inside the 34th District Courthouse, Growth Works provides nonprofit youth assistance and substance use treatment for residents of Romulus and nearby communities. They help youth facing at-risk behavior, justice-system risk, substance use disorder (SUD), and co-occurring mental health, trauma, or criminal behavior concerns. Services include Youth Assistance Program diversion groups, in-school sessions when needed, assessments, intensive outpatient (IOP) drug treatment, and outpatient drug treatment.
Strengthen Recovery at Home
Through a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, Growth Works in Romulus helps youth stabilize emotions, build coping skills, and create a home life that encourages recovery. After assessment, eligible youth may enter IOP treatment, then move into adolescent outpatient groups. Outpatient treatment also helps youth identify triggers, express feelings safely, understand family roles, build healthy communication, and develop recovery-based habits.
Root Care in Community
Growth Works Romulus offers an important access point for youth diversion and SUD care in Wayne County. Through its partnership with the City of Romulus and its courthouse-based office, Growth Works connects young people and families to practical help close to home. Backed by service since 1971, the program promotes accountability, community connection, and healthier paths forward.
