About Gaudenzia Babies and Children First Services
Gaudenzia's Babies and Children First Services for Erie County Women provides prevention and recovery support for women and families affected by substance use and co-occurring disorders. As part of Gaudenzia's statewide network of behavioral health programs, this initiative focuses on early intervention, education, and healing for women navigating substance use challenges during and after pregnancy.
Specialized Programs for Women and Children
The program offers outreach, education, referrals, and consultation services to pregnant, postpartum, and parenting women who are using substances, at risk of use, or living in homes impacted by use. It also supports children and teens up to age 17 who are using, at risk, or affected by a parent's substance use. Services are designed to strengthen family systems and include opportunities for male partners to participate in in-home education and supportive activities.
Affordable, Accessible Pathways to Long-Term Recovery
Babies and Children First Services accepts Medicaid and select commercial insurance and can assist families in securing county funding for coverage. The program is grounded in the belief that addiction affects entire families, but that recovery and healing are possible. Its mission is to provide accessible, compassionate support that empowers women and helps create healthier futures for their children.
