About Deschutes County Stabilization Center
The Deschutes County Stabilization Center serves children and adults experiencing a short-term mental health crisis by providing crisis assessment and stabilization for those who do not need hospital care. Individuals can walk in for help or be referred by community partners like law enforcement, ensuring immediate access to services regardless of inability to pay.
Connect with Experienced Therapists and Specialists
The center's approach focuses on immediate and accessible support. They offer walk-in crisis services with Master's level therapists in a safe, confidential environment without needing an appointment. Peer support specialists, who have personal experience with mental health challenges and/or substance use disorder, provide encouragement and support to individuals in recovery.
Get Crisis Intervention Directly Within the Community
They have specialized programs that provide crisis intervention directly within the community, like the Mobile Crisis Assessment Team (MCAT) which responds to individuals in crisis outside the center. Additionally, a Co-Responder Program pairs a mental health clinician with a Bend Police officer to jointly respond to mental health-related calls for service. They also offer a voluntary, 5-recliner, short-term adult respite unit for those experiencing a behavioral health crisis.
