About Deep Centered Mental Health - Westlake
Mental health care at the Westlake office combines therapy, psychiatry, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) in one outpatient setting. Deep Centered Mental Health treats depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), grief and loss, stress, trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Therapists provide care to adults, children, teens, couples, and families through individual, couples, family, child, and teen therapy, with in-person and telehealth options.
Personalized Sessions and Coordinated Care
Therapists begin treatment by reviewing each client’s history, current concerns, and goals, then adjust care as therapy progresses. Short-term individual therapy may last 6-12 sessions, while some clients continue longer. Therapists use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, and mindfulness-based therapies. Psychiatrists provide assessment, diagnosis, and medication management and coordinate care with therapists.
When Standard Treatment Falls Short
The Westlake Austin office offers TMS to clients with treatment-resistant depression and OCD. During TMS sessions, magnetic pulses stimulate targeted areas of the brain. Each session lasts about 20 minutes, and clients typically attend 5 sessions per week for about 6 weeks. The Westlake office also offers LGBTQ+ affirming therapy, parenting therapy, childhood trauma therapy, and feeding disorder treatment.
