About Birmingham Recovery Center
Birmingham Recovery Center provides adults in Birmingham, Alabama with accessible, high-quality addiction and mental health care designed to support lasting recovery. As one of Longleaf Recovery & Wellness's original locations, open since 2021, the center has refined its approach over five years of practice. Treatment plans are shaped by each client's own diagnosis, history, and goals.
Address Mind and Body
Clinicians look beyond surface symptoms to the underlying factors driving each client's substance use or mental health condition, whether that traces back to trauma, genetics, or something else entirely. Genetic and neuropsychological testing help match clients to the medications and therapies most likely to work, cutting down on trial and error. Programs combine individual counseling, group therapy, and medication management for conditions such as anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder.
Step through Every Stage
Clients can start in a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and step down through intensive outpatient programming (IOP) to standard outpatient care without switching providers along the way. Weekly aftercare groups, led by a licensed therapist, stay open for as long as a client finds them useful, not on a fixed schedule. That continuity means one team tracks a client's progress from the first day forward.
Build Skills for Life
Family sessions and psychoeducation bring loved ones into the treatment process and build a support system that lasts well beyond discharge. Clients practice the coping and life skills they rely on daily, from managing triggers to rebuilding routines and relationships strained by addiction or mental illness. Individual and group therapy reinforce those skills long after a higher level of care ends.
