About Beacon Behavioral Outpatient - Bogalusa
Focused on helping adults manage emotional and behavioral challenges, Beacon Behavioral Outpatient - Bogalusa offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for ages 18 and older. Their treatment addresses depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, psychosis, and substance use issues related to mental health conditions. They hold three therapeutic group sessions each day, 3-5 days a week, helping adults develop coping skills, manage symptoms, and work toward individual treatment goals.
Building Healthier Thinking and Coping Skills
Through group therapy, they teach ways to recognize negative thought patterns, manage difficult emotions, and respond to everyday challenges using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) techniques, and solution-focused therapy. Alongside these sessions, they conduct psychiatric assessments, develop individual treatment plans, and manage medications. Their co-occurring program also explores factors behind drug and alcohol use, teaches skills for managing relapse, and helps identify behavioral changes that may affect mental health.
Compassionate Care Since 1998
Beacon Behavioral began in 1998 as a community mental health center and has since expanded their mental health services across multiple locations. Their multidisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and counseling staff who work together to support progress. They offer free confidential pre-admission assessments, transportation assistance, lunch, and light snacks during treatment.
