About Atlantic Street Center
Mental health care reaches children and youth where they already spend their time, including homes, schools, and community spaces. Atlantic Street Center serves ages 6 to 24, and sometimes caregivers, through outpatient care for depression, anxiety, trauma, family conflict, and related concerns. They also assist survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and commercial sexual exploitation through advocacy, short-term therapy, crisis intervention, and housing-related services.
Therapy Across Community Settings
Licensed therapists and clinical interns use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), motivational interviewing (MI), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). Family sessions can include parent coaching, while a nurse practitioner handles medication management for clients enrolled in counseling. Middle-school students can also join the CoRe therapeutic gaming group, which uses CBT, DBT, and SFBT to address emotional regulation, communication, and goal-setting.
