About Amethyst Behavioral Healthcare
Built around connection, care, and consistency, Amethyst Behavioral Healthcare helps adults facing substance use, mental health, and co-occurring conditions at different points in recovery. Their intensive outpatient program (IOP) and outpatient services combine individual therapy, group counseling, care coordination, and recovery planning while allowing clients to maintain responsibilities at work, school, or home. Before beginning services, licensed professionals conduct a comprehensive assessment using evidence-based tools and conversation to understand each person’s needs and recommend a personalized care plan.
Connect Through Lived Experience
Amethyst Behavioral Healthcare follows a collaboration over control philosophy that treats recovery as a partnership and gives clients an active role in their care. Many staff members bring their own lived recovery experience to this work, creating opportunities for connection and helping break down stigma. Certified Peer Recovery Specialists build on that approach through one-to-one relationships rooted in shared experience. They provide judgment-free support, share practical guidance, and help clients work toward recovery goals.
Continue Care in Daily Life
For people beginning recovery or continuing care after a higher level of treatment, IOP and outpatient services provide ongoing support as they return to everyday routines and strengthen recovery in the community. Amethyst also extends peer support to adults recently discharged from treatment or released from incarceration. Clients can connect with peers weekly or biweekly in person, by phone, or virtually, with no set time limit. Peers also help them navigate housing, employment, healthcare, legal, and social services.
