About Ohio Recovery Center
Located in Van Wert’s quiet countryside, Ohio Recovery Center (ORC) offers medically monitored detox, residential care, and aftercare services for addiction and mental health concerns, including bipolar disorder, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Their mission is to support and stabilize clients during detox, coordinate a smooth transition into residential care, and offer a healing environment rooted in peer connection and clinical support. Treatment begins with a biopsychosocial assessment to establish an individualized treatment plan. ORC is part of Ark Behavioral Health’s treatment network and helps clients from all over the Midwest recover.
ORC’s highly credentialed staff have master’s level qualifications, years of experience, and compassion. They prioritize clients’ physical and mental health during their stay, with psychiatric care, 1:1 sessions with a primary physician, and behavioral health staff. Experienced clinicians provide 24/7 support to ease withdrawal symptoms during detox, with medication-assisted treatment available for opioid and alcohol use disorders (during and after detox).
ORC creates personalized treatment plans and plans each step of clients’ recovery, from detox to aftercare. After detox, on-site residential treatment provides various evidence-based therapies such as individual cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), daily group therapies, motivational interviewing (MI), and 12-Step meetings. They offer specialized groups for LGBTQ+ clients, first responders, couples, and young adults.Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) offers trauma-informed healing. ORC provides medication management for mental health conditions.
ORC prioritizes mental and physical wellness, offering a variety of restorative activities. Clients enjoy yoga and meditation classes, karaoke, game nights, movie viewings, and art therapy. ORC provides long-lasting support and resources with aftercare. Staff coordinates further treatment (outpatient care), sets up medical appointments, connects clients to local 12-Step groups, finds appropriate sober living homes, and provides continued medication management.

Insurance Accepted
Provider's Policy:In Ohio, addiction treatment can be expensive. Fortunately, many of the state’s rehab centers, including Ohio Recovery Center, accept health insurance. The amount of coverage you receive depends on the type of insurance you have and the type of treatment you need. We do not currently accept Medicaid or Medicare.
Ohio Recovery Center offers medication-assisted treatment to make detox and residential treatment as safe and comfortable as possible. Medications help clients detox from opioids and alcohol and maintain sobriety. Clients’ clinical team assess needs, prescribe appropriate medication(s), and regularly check in.
ORC provides specialized programs for first responders, young adults, couples, and those in the LGBTQ+ community. These programs offer specialized care for the unique obstacles clients face in recovery. For example, their first responder’s program focuses on workplace trauma. Each program has unique process groups and psychoeducation.
ORC begins treatment with a biopsychosocial assessment for tailored detox and residential treatment. They offer dual diagnosis care to address the root causes of addiction through 1:1 mental health counseling with a primary physician. After residential treatment, case managers and aftercare coordinators guide clients to their next steps in recovery.
At ORC, clients can access on-site amenities like yoga and meditation, art therapy, movies, and surrounding nature. Their 55-acre campus has a fitness center, a pond with a gazebo, walking trails, and yard games. During nice weather, group therapy sessions are moved outside.
