About Newport Academy - Teen OCD Program
Newport Academy’s OCD program treats obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and related anxiety conditions, including agoraphobia, panic disorders, social anxiety, and trichotillomania. Teens reside in gender-specific homes and receive academic support during treatment with on-staff teachers and tutors. Newport Academy also involves family in recovery with family therapy and continued communication.
Newport Academy’s OCD treatment revolves around exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP). Teens attend ERP therapy 4.5 hours a day, 5 days a week. ERP takes place in group and individual settings, with additional homework teens complete on their own. Other evidence-based therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and attachment-based family therapy (ABFT).
Newport Academy’s experienced staff include psychiatrists, family therapists, nurse practitioners, counselors, art therapists, music therapists, dieticians, and adventure therapists. An initial psychiatric evaluation guides treatment and determines which medications may alleviate symptoms. Teens and their parents receive psychoeducation on OCD and family therapy to heal as a whole.
Newport Academy provides on-site academic support with an equipped school room, on-staff teachers, and tutors. They’re accredited by the Joint Commission and accept most private insurance providers.

Provider's Policy: We work with most major insurance companies, including both In-network and out-of-network payers, to optimize access to care for families and teens affected by addiction.
Newport Academy’s OCD program immerses teens in structured, personalized treatment for OCD and other co-occurring anxiety disorders. Teens receive group and individual therapy, family therapy, and exposure and response (ERP) therapy 5 times weekly.
Newport Academy houses teens in gender-specific homes. They treat each teen with the individualized care they need and deserve–no two teens are alike, and neither is their treatment. Newport’s team of professionals work to create custom care, using evidence-based methods with proven results and trackable, successful outcomes.
Teens continue school in treatment, led by Newport Academy’s accredited teachers. Just like their therapeutic care, teens receive an individualized academic plan, with 1-1 tutoring and peer support. This all begins in the same supportive and safe environment of treatment, with all academics on site and led by Newport’s teaching staff. Parents meet with teachers in parent-teacher meetings, allowing for connections and engagement between everyone involved.
Newport Academy extends healing to the whole family. Master-level therapists lead attachment-based family therapy to help teens and their parents heal strained relationships and make healthy ones. Educational sessions support parents in learning more about OCD, anxiety, and coping strategies.
