About Miramar Health
Miramar Health, located in Laguna Hills, California, was founded by a Navy and Marine Corp veteran and is also veteran-owned and operated. Miramar solely serves veterans and ensures that there are no costs for veterans to receive treatment. They work to make treatment as accessible as possible by handling all outbound and inbound travel and logistics. Miramar staff will even fly to veterans in the tri-west region to provide door-to-door pick up service.
Miramar Health offers detox, residential, and extended care programs. Across their programs, Miramar Health maintains a maximum ratio of 6 to 1 veterans for every clinician to ensure attentive care. In their detox program, Miramar works to safely remove substances from individuals' systems before they move onto further treatment. Detox typically lasts 3-10 days.
After detox, individuals can transition to the residential program, which lasts 30-90 days, with most individuals staying 45 days. The residential program consists of evidence-based, trauma-informed care through individual and group counseling. Miramar staff use modalities like eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) during sessions. In addition to therapy sessions, individuals can participate in physical fitness at the gym, park, or beach, off-campus meetings, lectures, and other events throughout the week.
After residential treatment, Miramar Health offers services through their extended care program to help clients as they transition back into the community. Their services include trauma-focused psychotherapy, psychoeducation, group therapy, case management, medication management, family therapy, and more.
