About Kartini Clinic
Kartina Clinic is a specialized organization run by pediatricians which provides comprehensive treatment for adolescents and young adults ages 6 to 18 struggling with eating disorders. Family is a key component of Kartini’s success as they only practice family-centered treatment. Parents are simultaneously treated along with the child, teaching the parents how to effectively care for their child. The goal at Kartini Clinic is to ensure lasting results and to limit the most intensive (and expensive) forms of treatment such as hospitalization and 24-hour residential care. They achieve this by first addressing immediate symptoms of anorexia in Kartini Day Treatment's controlled environment. Their treatment team includes group, individual, and family therapists, movement therapists, a hypnotherapist, and a licensed school teacher. Throughout the program, clients attend individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based treatment practices including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). Programs are always age appropriate, and clients are cared for by the same team of experts throughout every level of treatment.
Kartini Clinic is a unique eating disorder facility that provides high-quality, family-centric treatment in Portland, Oregon.
