A 64-bed inpatient program gives Seaside Health System the capacity to stabilize adults 18+ experiencing severe mental health symptoms, substance use crises, or both. The Baton Rouge hospital provides 24/7 psychiatric care, medical detox, and dual-diagnosis treatment for conditions such as schizophrenia, psychosis, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, alcohol or drug dependence, and suicidal thoughts.

Psychiatric Care With Medical Oversight

Psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, licensed social workers, therapists, mental health technicians, and an activity therapist take part in care. The team completes psychiatric assessments, develops individual treatment plans, and provides 1-on-1 and group therapy, medication management, and continuous monitoring. Adults undergoing detox receive medical supervision and behavioral support. The team also coordinates discharge planning, and family members may join that process or receive family-focused education with the patient's consent.
