MaineHealth Mid Coast Hospital Behavioral Health

Located inside MaineHealth Mid Coast Campus along Medical Center Drive, the facility provides inpatient, outpatient, emergency care, and day treatment (PHP) services for children, adolescents, and adults. The hospital treats conditions such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, smoking cessation, substance use disorder (SUD), and postpartum depression.

Services and Therapies

Services include evaluation, assessment, psychiatry, individual, group, and family therapy. The center offers electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills, spiritual care for patients, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT). They also offer senior outpatient behavioral health services, including psychiatric evaluation, counseling, substance use education, and follow-up care via TeleHealth. Day treatment provides intensive daily therapy, medication management, and group psychotherapy.

Care Coordination and Specialized Support

Psychiatrists, nurses, and therapists coordinate care and connect patients with community resources. The hospital also provides counseling and medication oversight during postpartum recovery, structured skills groups for emotional regulation and social interaction, and crisis and emergency care, including dedicated behavioral health treatment rooms and an observation unit for extended stays.
