Set in the peaceful village of Vidago, Foco Saúde's Vida GO location treats clients with alcohol or drug addiction using evidence-based therapies with individual and group therapies. Their team includes a general practitioner, a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a nutritionist, and specialized monitors.
Therapeutic Getaway in Rural Portugal
Treatment lasts at least 90 days in a location designed to be away from triggers so clients can focus on recovery. Foco Saúde provides monitored Internet access and works with clients to balance work commitments and wellbeing. Clients may use cellphones during specific time periods. They may also arrange to have visitors during their treatment.
Structured Weeks at a Personalised Pace
The exact length of treatment lasts as long as clients need, but weeks of treatment include structured group therapy, 2 to 3 individual sessions with a psychologist each week, and daily walks outside the facility with a monitor. The facility is open 24/7. During clients' time in treatment, the team works with them to plan relapse prevention strategies for when they leave.
