About Bergen New Bridge Medical Center
A not-for-profit, safety-net hospital in Paramus, New Jersey, and a clinical affiliate of Rutgers, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center treats adults and adolescents with substance use disorders through Evergreen, its dedicated addiction treatment program. Evergreen offers a full continuum of care and serves more than 15,000 people each year, backed by a Joint Commission-accredited, full-service hospital, with placement guided by ASAM criteria and in-network coverage across all major New Jersey commercial insurance plans.
Move Through a Full Continuum of Care
Evergreen spans every level of adult care. A 50-plus-bed inpatient withdrawal management unit provides medically monitored detox from alcohol, opioids, and benzodiazepines, followed by a 21-day short-term residential program. Intensive outpatient treatment offers day and evening tracks meeting at least 3 hours a day, 3 times a week, and medication-assisted treatment uses FDA-approved options like Vivitrol and Suboxone. Care is delivered within a 12-Step framework through individual and group therapy and psychoeducation.
Recover With the Teen T.H.R.I.V.E. Program
For adolescents ages 13 to 17, the Teen T.H.R.I.V.E. program offers early intervention, intensive outpatient, adolescent day treatment (partial hospitalization), and aftercare, plus Spanish-language groups and a vaping cessation program for ages 12 to 18. Licensed for co-occurring conditions and deeply family-focused, it is the only PHP in Bergen County that accepts Medicaid and Charity Care.
Access Support and Ongoing Recovery
Beyond core treatment, a Peer Recovery Center and a Contingency Management program (for stimulant use, in partnership with DynamiCare) provide continuing recovery support. Bergen New Bridge is also a Veterans Community Care Provider and a recognized leader in LGBTQ healthcare equality. Admissions are available 7 days a week, and the Access Center offers free, confidential assessments 24 hours a day at 800-730-2762.

Supportive Medication for Recovery
