About East Mississippi State Hospital
This residential program provides court-ordered substance use treatment for men ages 18 and older on a 63-acre campus. It delivers structured, short-term care with 24-hour nursing services, group and individual therapy, and recovery resources. The program helps residents stabilize, build coping skills, and prepare for a supported transition back to their families and communities.
Strengthen Recovery With Proven Therapies
The program follows the Matrix Model, combining cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), psychoeducation, and relapse prevention. Residents join 12-Step groups, work with peer support specialists who have lived experience, and receive family education. Staff also provide aftercare planning and connect clients with local recovery meetings and mental health appointments before discharge to support ongoing progress.
