About First Steps Recovery
Taking the first step toward recovery can feel overwhelming, but finding a space designed entirely for the challenges men and women face can change one’s trajectory. First Steps Recovery operates a true full continuum of care at their gender-specific facilities. The program treats substance use, including alcohol, opioids, and prescription drugs, alongside co-occurring mental health struggles. Clients can enter at the medical detox level, transition into residential care, and graduate into outpatient options.
Focus Intently on One’s Personal Growth Journey
Because men and women face different hurdles on the road to sobriety, First Steps keeps their programs entirely separate. Without the social noise or distractions of a co-ed environment, clients have the breathing room to be themselves. In this warm, judgment-free space, clients can openly share their struggles and build life-changing friendships.
Regulate the Nervous System in Wide-Open Spaces
Recovering in the right environment makes it easier to regulate a frazzled nervous system. First Steps provides wide-open spaces, picturesque mountain views, and nature trails. The food is incredible, with professional chefs on staff prepping meals. To help everyone stay present, there is a balanced technology policy, including a seven-day device blackout, where phone privileges are earned through positive actions. Clients can also participate in weekly family visits, fitness trips, and go to local support meetings.
Turn Early Sobriety into a Celebration
In a world that constantly celebrates partying, victory can be found in mundane moments like making the bed and waking up clear-headed. First Steps is shifting that narrative through a vibrant alumni community of over 50 active members. This program keeps graduates connected through the Team Recovery app, weekly 12-step meetings, and casual hybrid gatherings for those farther away. The community even coordinates bowling nights alongside monthly adventures like camping and fishing trips.
